3D printing technology (3DP) is a fast and cost-effective method for producing complex designs with minimal error that can be used to perform repeatable experiments without destroying stone samples. Printed samples can replace stone samples such as cores and plugs. They potentially can validate numerical simulations and supplement existing laboratory measurements of changes in the properties of petrophysics at the geological time scale. It is worth mentioning that the initial use of 3D printing of alternative samples for engineering applications in the oil industry has attracted the attention of researchers and scholars in this field. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the potential application and development of 3D printing technology (3DP) for engineering applications in the oil industry, which is used in training of geology science. This article begins with a brief description of the concepts andprinciples associated with 3D printing
